Singapore creates the perfect welcome or Farewell to all Conference Delegates

Category: Singapore

A central location and top-tier facilities, coupled with rich history and vibrant culture makes Singapore an easy choice for meeting and event planners.

The city is constantly changing and evolving, which means even seasoned Singapore travellers are bound to discover new venues and experiences every time they visit.

For those who have yet to explore the Lion City, or perhaps those looking to discover something new, here are five things you need to know when planning an event in Singapore

Singapore has so many attributes, as a country it is environmentally conscious, the people are polite, proud, generous and really helpful, I never saw any homeless, any litter or any graffiti I did see Orchids, flowers and lots of highrise.

Sustainability is a growing concern across the world, and Singapore is leading the charge by offering eco-friendly options for event planners.

Planners are encouraged to adopt eco-friendly practices while in Singapore and consider green venues which have a track record of sustainable practices.

Green venues can be identified via the BCA Green Mark symbol.

Hosting a green event in Singapore enhances your brand’s reputation and commitment to sustainability.

Unconventional venues are everywhere

Singapore has an excellent range of state-of-the-art convention centres, exhibition halls and meeting venues, as well as a host of unconventional event venues that are uniquely Singapore.

Event planners can host events anywhere from art museums and lush gardens, to scenic rooftops and sunny beachfront locations.

For an iconic Singapore event, look no further than Gardens by the Bay, or transform Singapore’s only state-of-the-art soundstages at Infinite Studios for an event to remember. Reinvent the standard cocktail function at Night Safari, or set sail on the Royal Albatross for a luxury incentive experience.

Planners can tap into a network of experienced vendors

Singapore’s well-established business events ecosystem means a plethora of event vendors are on hand to cater to every event planning need.

Professional event planners, event technology companies, logistics companies, translators and other suppliers can bring a wealth of expertise to your event.

Wenyang Sports Association can infuse cultural elements into your event with its dynamic Lion Dance performances, while homegrown retailer Naiise can design custom souvenirs and gifts for your delegates that incorporate local artworks and icons.

Getting there has never been easier

Singapore’s Changi Airport is one of the busiest and best connected in the world, with more than 100 airlines flying in out and out of it every week.

From Australia, there are more than 25 flight options every day, making it easy to travel to Singapore from all major Australian cities.

While you’re there, stop by the brand new Jewel Changi Airport, a multi-faceted lifestyle destination that’s catching the attention of Singapore residents and international travellers alike.

The Jewel Shopping Centre has to be seen to be believed at Changi Airport Above is inside the Jewel.

So here is my story, I checked out of my accommodation late at midday in Singapore and took a taxi to the Airport thinking I had 5 hours to kill before I could check in my bags! No Not here as I entered the airport doors, The concierge guided me to check in my baggage early! So now I am free to wander!

The Jewel its less than 200 metres across the road from terminal two using an air conditioned foot bridge I enter a photographers world of dreams I should point out there are four terminals in a rectangle that attract thousands of planes full of tourists every week filled with passengers en route or staying in Singapore, they filled in the centre of the rectangle with a ten story high open plan shopping complex all fully airconditioned under an amazing glass domed roof and the central feature is the Jewel Waterfall also ten stories high surrounded by terraces of water features live orchids plants from all over the world and then there are the shops I mean you name a brand or international store they have it, I tried the guessing game - which store is missing none!

Did I mention food halls on every level near to every terminal. The first one I entered was a bakers delight with every type of Bakery, Boulangerie, Sandwich bar Yes it had Subway who bake there own bread specialist in Donuts, cookies cupcakes and more amazing smells than my nose has ever had the pleasure of before. Then there are dozens if not hundreds of Restaurants 16,000 steps later and its time to head to my flight and settle back in a snooze lounge and check out the rest of the world on line using the airports free wifi which is faster than NBN after all that walking sitting on a plane for 10 hours is easy peasy.
